Things to Consider When Finding a Prime Day Prebuilt Deal
There’s a number of things you need to keep at the forefront of your mind when you’re thinking about your next pre-built gaming PC. First and foremost, budget. Don’t overspend or commit to something you can’t afford. Second on the agenda, what resolution do you want to target? 1080p, 1440p or 4K. Each will come with a prerequisite card. However! That last part is also dependent on the types of game you play. Into all the latest glorious RPGs dripping with crisp and grand sweeping vistas? Or are you into hard-core CS2-esque esports? Then there’s general considerations, i.e. “what other tasks will you use it for?” Livestreaming? Better CPU and RAM. Office work? Mid-range CPU is fine. Super fast internet? Less storage probably makes more sense. Opposite of that? Big storage.
Just look at the absolute plethora of top-tier games that have launched in the last couple of months alone. Whether that’s Baldur’s Gate 3, Starfield, Cyberpunk’s prestigious Phantom Liberty DLC, and beyond, the games hitting our favorite gaming platform are just phenomenal graphical titans. Question is though, do you have the PC to be able to handle it? Maybe your rig is getting a little long in the tooth now? Those frame rates just aren’t keeping up with all them AAA games. You could build a new system of course, or upgrade your ageing machine with a new CPU, new GPU, or even get the majority of it for some fresh kit. There’s no shame in that, and there are plenty of part deals out there too.

How Long Will Amazon Prime Day Deals Last?
Amazon Prime Day has now definitely been confirmed as occurring from the 10th of October and running through to the end of the 11th. You can bet that there’ll be some deals extending past that point from some manufacturers no doubt, but the bulk will be over these two day.
One thing you do need to keep at the forefront of that ol noggin is that no deal lasts forever, ever on Prime Day. If the seller runs out of stock, or decides to pull the deal early, you could see that price disappear quickly. Vice-versa, depending on product popularity, and deal competition, so prices might change sporadically throughout the day as well.
What Should I Be Looking For?
For a decent pre-built gaming pc deal, we highly recommend picking one from a respected builder (the ones we list here will fall into that category by default). The next thing you need to consider is, as we mentioned, what resolution you’re target. If you’re looking at 4K gaming, an RTX 4070 or RTX 3080 above would be a good place to start. 1440p gaming you’ll want a 4060 or 3070, 1080p and, you guessed it, 3060 or above, or the AMD equivalent.
For your CPU this’ll mostly depend on your other tasks. Considering video editing, streaming or heavy photoshop work? Then an i7-12900K or Ryzen 7 5800X or above will fit the bill. Just gaming on the side, and nothing else? Then an i5-12600K or Ryzen 5 5600X or something similar.
Memory? 16GB minimum for gaming, ideally 32GB. Editing or professional work? Try to get 64GB. DDR5 is the preferred, particularly given how cheap it is.
As for storage, that’s going to entirely depend on what your specific requirements are. Generally speaking the faster your download speed, or lower your budget the less storage you can get away with. If the opposite is true, or your a back-up fiend, then 4TB or more might be something to look out for. Either way, make sure you’re getting M.2 PCIe storage, 3.0 or above. The world’s come a long way from the SATA SSDs of yesteryear, and the prices have too.
